Brian Ashton, former Fylde & Lancashire scrum-half and England coach on the pitch in the 1070s
To coincide with a players' reunion to be held on the day of the home league game against Beverley on April 12, Fylde will be awarding special commemorative ties to all players who have made at least 50 first team appearances - in any era - and who are able to get to The Woodlands that day.
A special design has been created and a limited edition, sponsored by Bill Beaumont, will be distributed to all current and former players who have made the threshold number of appearances and are able to join the celebrations.
Brian Ashton, former Fylde and Lancashire scrum-half and England coach will be Guest of Honour at the celebrations and he will have the distinction of collecting a tie for his fine performances for the club in the 1970s and also handing them out to former team mates and others who have reached the 50-game tally.
All former players, at whatever level they've played, are very welcome to attend the pre-match buffet and post-match celebrations, but to help plan catering and other arrangements, organiser Allan Townsend would appreciate a call from players planning to attend.
Call Allan on 01253 734733 or e-mail info@fylderugby.co.uk for details.
