It looked as though Blackpool didn't turn up for the first half when Old Bedians ran riot running in 63 unopposed points.

Blackpool did apply pressure from the first whistle but this was short lived when, from a breakaway position within their own 22 metre line, Old Bedians opened up their account with a converted try.

This opened the floodgates and the home side seemed to be scoring at will.

At half time Phil Raw, the Blackpool player coach had some harsh words to say to his side and this seemed to have the desired effect as they limited Old Bedians to just 24 points in the second half with a reply themselves.

In the 20th minute of the half, after some good Blackpool forward pressure, hooker Nick Cardwell forced himself over the line for a well-deserved try just to the left of the posts.

Stand off Sean Donnelly quickly kicked the conversion to give Blackpool some points on the board but not enough to affect the result.

Old Bedians eventually ran out winners by 87 - 7.

The minus points from the match, apart from loosing heavily yet again, were that it was possibly Blackpool's worst first half performance this season.

The plus point is that in the second half they began to compete and showed that the backs can tackle and make headway if they put their minds to it.

All players are urged to attend the training sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday as this is seen as the only way that things can improve.
