Fylde have signed Waterloo and former Lancashire hooker Chris Tyms.
The very experienced Tyms, 5ft 10ins and 15-and-a-half stone, has spent all seven years of his senior career at Blundellsands including making major contributions to two promotion campaigns and a Twickenham Cup Final.
He scored a try in the Powergen Shield Final between Bristol and 'Loo at Twickenham in 2004. In all, he started 119 1st team games and made another 28 appearances as a replacement.
He joins recent fellow former Waterloo recruits to the Woodlands, Craig Aikman and Neil Hunter.
Fylde 1st team coach Mark Nelson said: "Chris is a seasoned campaigner, a compact and technically good hooker with an excellent all round game.
"He gives us depth in a position in which we've been rather exposed in recent weeks.
"We have a number of promising young hookers coming through the ranks and a major task is to help them develop the critical technical skills.
"We are extremely grateful to former Scottish international and coach Martin Scott for helping us out as a replacement in recent matches."
