A new 3G all weather pitch at Fylde Rugby Club will soon be open for use.

The pitch and surrounding fencing has been completed with only the floodlights to be installed in the next ten days.

Most of the usage is likely to be a mixture of rugby and football.

It will be the base for the new ScoreFootball five, six and seven-a-side soccer leagues which will begin in January 2009.

The AWP is likely to be open for casual usage from Monday, November 3.

The 60mx40m pitch uses the very latest 'rubber crumb' surface, approved for competitive use by both the International Rugby Board (IRB) and FIFA which makes it suitable for contact sports such as rugby union and league, football and similar sports.

The building has been substantially assisted by a major grant from the Rugby Football Union.
