Fylde RFC has clinched the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the club’s history by linking up with leading electrical retailer Reliant Direct.

Every player in the club’s 18 teams – from the 1st team to the U’7s, more than 600 players – will wear the new shirts prominently carrying the Reliant logo.

The deal also involves pitchboard and match programme advertising and will last an initial period of three years.

Fylde’s chairman, Michael Brennand, said: “This major sponsorship with Reliant Direct will enable us to provide ongoing support for rugby at all levels within the Fylde Coast area.

"We are delighted to be working with Reliant as they share our values of the pursuit of success and high quality service.

"I hope whenever the public makes a buying decision that they think first of a company like Reliant who are committed to the community.”

Reliant Direct’s Managing Director Richard Shorrock said: “From humble beginnings when the founder of the Reliant TV business opened his first store on the Fylde coast, to being one of the largest independent electrical retailers in the North West, we have always strived to maintain a close association with the local community.

"We are happy that we can now take the opportunity to become a major sponsor of Fylde Rugby Club at an exciting time in both our organisations’ history.

“We not only want to give our support to the 1st XV but the whole club - from the under 7s upwards.

"We hope that this sponsorship will help the club reach its goals over the coming seasons. With the recent redevelopment of the club house to the current construction of the all weather pitch Fylde are pushing for promotion after just missing out last season.

"This is Reliant’s largest ever commitment to sponsorship in the local area and future plans involve bring further benefits to the club and its members.

“We wish all the teams the best for the new season.

"And we look forward to seeing you in store or online soon.”
