Graham Smith, the former England Colts and Fylde first team coach and Director of Rugby Development, is returning to the Woodlands as the dedicated Fylde Wanderers second team coach.
Graham has recently retired as head of rugby coaching at Arnold School, Blackpool.
He previously had a spell as chairman of rugby, working in combination with the then coach Mark Nelson.
The appointment sees them in working partnership once again.
Fylde's recently appointed Director of Rugby, Mark Nelson, said: "I'm delighted that Graham as agreed to coach the Wanderers in 2008/9.
"I'm on record as saying that the second team is fundamental to the long term success of the club.
"It underpins the first team and we must ensure that it plays at the highest possible level so that players can develop the competitive edge they need to develop and challenge for first team places.
"Graham has unique experience as a development coach and working with young players.
"He's a grade 4 RFU coach and knows the Club intimately. He'll help to ensure that the Wanderers maintain and improve on their great 2007/8 season."
Graham will keep contact with Arnold as the club is providing coaching support to the school.
