A Blackpool side made hard work of this victory against a touring side from near Penarth in Wales.

The first half seemed as if it was all one-way traffic when after only seven minutes Blackpool opened their account with a try from scrum half Carl Reynolds.

Winger Mario Yanous Panteli made his speed count when he ran almost 50 yards shrugging off tackles in the process to pass the ball out to Reynolds to score.

The conversion was missed but that did not seem to faze the Blackpool attacking line. The watching crowd only had to wait another minutes minutes before Blackpool struck again.

This time, from a line out near the Sully goal area, the forwards took the ball and drove forward. Stand off Duncan Holland was waiting on the fringe of the maul to take the ball and cross the line to touch down.

This time stand off Sean Donnelly made no mistakes with the conversion attempt to open up a 12-point lead.

Blackpool continued with their attacking stance and again were rewarded in the 25th minute when winger Yanous Panteli scored a well-deserved try.

He gathered the ball inside his own half of the field and surged forward in what was an unstoppable run to score near the posts to give Donnelly an easy kick for goal.

The lead was now a healthy 19 0 with half time approaching. Sully were not going to take this lying down and they themselves scored an unconverted try to peg the score back to 19 5 at half time.

In an effort to get all players a game, Blackpool carried out some mass changes during the half time break, which was nearly their undoing.

They started the second half full of promise and, with his first touch of the ball, centre Gaz Woodall scored in only the third minute. The try was again converted this time by winger Ben Eaves to increase the score to 26 5 in the home side's favour.

This was quickly followed up by another try this time by Eaves, his first for the club, after a scintillating run by Trevor Smith. Stand off Donnelly re-assumed the kicking duties to extend the lead to 31 5.

Blackpool seemed to go back into their shell after this score and by the 25th minutes, had allowed Sully back into the game by conceding 4 tries, two of which were converted. With the score now at 31 29 in Blackpool's favour, only some stout defending by the home side saw them come through with a victory.
