The wheels well and truly came off the Blackpool wagon after the promise of a good result against this Garstang side.

As early as the 2nd minute Blackpool gave away a kickable penalty which thankfully Garstang failed to convert.

The opposition were not to be put off however as within 3 minutes they had opened the scoring with an unconverted try.

Again in twelfth minute the Garstang side were at it again when they scored another unconverted try to open up the score to 10 points.

This pattern of play continued for the remainder of the first half for Garstang to go 22 – 0, although Blackpool did apply pressure during brief spells during the remainder of the half.

The second half continued much the same as the first with Garstang scoring another 6 tries of which 3 were converted to take the score to the final 58 – 0 in their favour, again Blackpool applied pressure during periods of play but again they failed to turn this into points on the board.

Blackpool was full of high hopes before this match but unfortunately this came to nothing.

It is back to the training ground before the next match to try and overcome their shortfalls although it should be said that Blackpool fielded quite a few inexperienced players, which, with a few games under their belts, should improve towards the latter half of the season.
