Blackpool continued their woeful season when they went down for the second week running to a strong Birchfield side.

This time the match was away at the Birchfield ground and the visitors failed to score in response to Birchfield's 71 points.

In the first half it looked as though Blackpool stood a chance of turning their season around with some staunch defending and some good attacking moves which saw them contain the home side to 19-0 at half time.

Blackpool had it all to play for in the second half and came out ready again to do battle and get some points of their own on the board.

Alas this was not to be so as, in only the 3rd minute of the second half they fell yet again to the sucker punch to let the home side score a converted try to take the score to 26-0.

The Blackpool side put up some good spirited defending but they could not prevent the Birchfield side from scoring.

They kept the score moderately down until to 18th minute when the floodgates opened and Birchfield seemed to be able to score at will.

A brief respite came when Blackpool juggled their pack but it was only short lived as the home side ran out winners by 71-0.

Blackpool can only blame the lack of numbers at training, which had a detrimental effect on the fitness of the team.
