Blackpool was again at a push to get a side out for this North Lancs 1 league fixture after having a large squad during the week.

They ended up with only the bare minimum 15 players without any substitutes for the game, although at least they travelled to Burnley.

The visitors gave there all but unfortunately this was not good enough as a very capable Burnley side systematically took them apart from the first whistle.

Blackpool managed to limit the scoring to 43-0 in the first half but the floodgates were opened in the second when the visitors lost two players through injury.

They played the second half with only 13 men and had to revert to uncontested scrums as they lost their front row.

The only bright spark of the half for Blackpool came when the side seemed to find an aggression that had been missing; the visitors had a brief spell when they went all out at the Burnley side but they were unable to convert the aggression into tries and they eventually went back into their shells when Burnley began to counter them.

The Burnley side ran out 86 - 0 winners in what was a one sided contest, the second route for Blackpool in two games in the league.

Blackpool was definitely missing their regular players who for some reason have not turned up at the club this season.

If anyone wants to play for Blackpool, please come along to the training sessions which run on a Tuesday and Thursday evening starting at 7pm were they will be assured of a very warm welcome.
