Fylde's record try scoring winger, Nick Royle, has committed himself to the club for next season, his third at the Woodlands.

Royle, 24, picked up Rugby Round-up's Award for leading try scorer in National Three (North) on Saturday with 31 tries, one short of being the leading try scorer in English league rugby in the season.

In almost two full seasons at the club, he has the amazing strike record of 55 tries in 44 appearances, figures that stand comparison with any player in the 88 year history of the club.

At the end of a long season he represented Lancashire in three matches in the Bill Beaumont County Championship Cup and scored another three tries. He is about to fly out to Canada on Lancashire's 125th Anniversary Tour.

Fylde coach Stuart Connell said: "Everyone associated with Fylde will be delighted to see Nick playing another season with us.

"He's a very popular player who has endeared himself to the club's followers by his tremendous finishing.

"He was deservedly voted Players' Player of the Year and has received offers from other clubs but has decided to stay loyal to Fylde."
