With the League Season over Blackpool entered the realms of the touring side.
This weekend saw sides from Arecians of Bristol, Cambran from South Wales and Eastern District Warriors from Northampton arrive at the Mossom Lane ground to play a round robin tournament.
The games consisted of twenty minutes each and were played with good humour and quite a bit of skill.
Blackpool, after winning the first match of the tournament against Warriors looked forward to winning the competition but, alas this was not to be so.
They then came up against good opposition from both Cambran and Aretians who eventually went on to win the tournament.
The final placings were first Aretians, who won all of their games, second Cambran, who won two and lost one and third Blackpool who won one and lost two. Fourth were the Warriors who lost all of their games.
After an exchange of momentos between the clubs taking part, a cup denoting the winners was presented by the Blackpool Chairman of Rugby Sam Cockcroft to the captain of the winning Aretians side.
A good day was had by all and Blackpool look forward to another two touring sides due in the resort next weekend.
