World Cup winner Nobby Stiles will be the star attraction at a sportsman’s dinner at Blackpool FC in aid of recently formed charity, the Butterfly Group.
The 1966 winner will be the guest of honour and after-dinner speaker at the event at Bloomfield Road tonight.
The Butterfly Group cares for people affected by immune, auto immune and chronic disorders.
Nobby will be joined by stand up comic Martin Gold, who is one of the most popular comics on the after dinner circuit.
Ramesh Gandhi OBE, the charity president, said: “The list of disorders is comprehensive and a lot them have a limited amount of information and treatment available to sufferers or support to their families, which the Butterfly Group will be providing.
“I trust the community will support this event so we may realise and provide the services of the charity to the Fylde coast, and a brave group of individuals who suffer from illnesses which are debilitating and which presently have no cure.”
The evening’s entertainment starts at 7.30pm, with tickets £27.50, or £250 for a table of ten, available from Christina Lukacs on 01253 316000.
