Padiham gave a solid display but were beaten 2-0 by FA Vase finalists Kirkham and Wesham.
Martin Savigar gave the home side the lead two minutes into the second half, and a last-minute strike by Ritchie Allen settled it.
Wayne Morrison had Padiham's best chance but failed to score after a one-on-one with goalkeeper Joe Abbott.
