Seasiders legend Jimmy Armfield was honoured at the annual Professional Footballers Association (PFA) awards dinner in London last night.
Armfield received the 2008 Merit Award for his contribution to professional football.
The 72-year-old made 627 games for Blackpool between 1954 and 1971, and also made 43 appearance for England.
PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor said: "He's done the lot at all levels of the game and is massively respected throughout the football community.
