Blackpool FC has been given a three-year extension to keep the temporary east stand open until 2011.
The Seasiders have been told that this is likely to be the final extension though, and in 2011 the council will not be keeping the stand open.
The extension was approved at a planning meeting last night, together with an extra six rows being added to the stand, providing an extra 972 seats.
