Nine people have been banned from Bloomfield Road after racist and homophobic chanting marred the Seasiders local derby with Preston on Saturday.

The game, which ended 0-0, was marred by the chanting which occurred from a small minority throughout the afternoon.

The police met with club bosses this afternoon, and decided to ban nine fans from attending future games at the ground.

More could be banned as inquiries continue into Saturday's scenes.
