Wes Hoolahan's season is set to be extended after being called in to Giovanni Trapattoni's first Republic of Ireland squad.

Hoolahan, 25, who has had an impressive season for Blackpool, will join a preliminary squad of 40 for a training camp in Portugal shortly after the end of the domestic season.

Coach Frank Stapleton has recently watched the winger in action for the Tangerines.
