St Annes were summarily dismissed from the Thwaites Cup on Sunday by an in-form Kendal who batted first and made 239-1 from their 40 overs.

In reply St Annes were at one point on target at 173-4 but then they lost their way and were bowled out for 216 from the final ball of their allocation.

Ikram Ullah, 93 from 115 balls with nine fours and one six, and Kevin Howarth, 101 not out from 115 balls with 11 fours, put on 189 for the first wicket in 36 overs and then in came the evergreen Terry Hunte hit a rapid 29 not out from 16 balls with three fours and one six to take Kendal to their formidable 239-1.

Adrian Darlington hit a quick 45 from 79 balls with five fours and Gareth Evans top scored with 63 not out from 74 balls with five fours but it was left to Russ Bradley, batting at number nine, to try to hit St Annes to victory.

He struck two sixes in one over but in trying for a third he was caught at long-on and St Annes were all out for 216 to lose by 23 runs.
