Blackpool are ten points adrift at the bottom of the 3D Northern Premier League after a disastrous defeat at home to Carnforth when they dismissed for just 42.
They must have fancied their chances of victory after the visitors were bowled out for only 110 with Adam Parker taking five wickets for 27 and Andy Armstrong two for 37. Blackpool's reply was pitiful though, with Luis Reece the top scorer with just 15 and there were 12 extras!
Carnforth pro Irfan Fazil did most of the damage picking up six wickets for 25.
The game at Vernon Road between St Annes and Barrow was reduced to a 37-over contest and ended in a draw as St Annes made 210-5 thanks to a belligerent 71 from Ian Austin, 40 from Stephen Twist and a rapid 41 not out from Adam Cotton. Barrow lost early wickets but in the end held out for a draw at 86-8 with Paul Wilcock leading the rearguard action with 31 and he was assisted by 21 from Chris D'Leny and 17 not out from John McMenemy.
Austin took 3-10 and Shane Harwood 3-49 for St Annes.
By dint of a four-wicket victory over Lancaster on Saturday, Netherfield returned to the top of the table.
