St Annes made a move into the top four of the 3D Sports Northern Cricket League with a third successive victory, and this time Fleetwood were their victims.

St Annes batted first at Broadwater and made a modest 164 with openers Adrian Darlington, 25, and Gareth Evans, 37, giving them a good start, which was carried on by Shane Harwood, 27.

But it was Adam Cotton firing 46 that helped his side to their eventual total as Kyle Smit took 6-69, Steve Whiteside 2-42 and Adam Breakell 1-30.

Fleetwood lost four early wickets before Wayne Clarke, 21, helped James Ellis to steady the innings but once they were separated, Harwood returned and the innings closed at 126. Ellis finished with an excellent 46 not out and he was helped by 14 from John Wright as Harwood had six clean bowled, one leg before wicket and one caught at slip in his 8-27.

Blackpool had to make do with a draw to home to Barrow after the visitors made 214-6.

Pasan Wanasinghe 83 was the top scorer and Jonathan Miles made 77 and Ian Allington 24 as Justin Kreusch took 3-47 in 14 overs and Luis Reece 2-24. Blackpool replied with 51 from Luis Reece, 18 from Adam Parker and a superb 108 from Kreusch but when he was out Blackpool lost their way and ended up at 205-8. Justin Quint, who took the crucial wicket of Kreusch, one ball after having him caught and bowled from a no-ball, took 6-52 for Barrow.
