St Annes set a new record for a team total with their 325-5 against Carnforth in the 3D Sports Northern Premier Cricket League.

But it still did not give them their first victory of the season as the home side held on at 226-6 for a draw, St Annes sixth of the season.

Adrian Darlington led the way with 75, Ian Austin made 69, substitute professional Saeed Anwar junior made 45, Stephen Twist finished with 44 not out and Gareth Evans made 37.

For St Annes Anwar bowled unchanged to take 2-80 and Twist took 2-35.

Fleetwood had a splendid win at Kendal where the home side batted first and made a respectable 203-7 with Kevin Howarth top scoring with 58. For Fleetwood Kyle Smit, who had earlier taken 2-43, got among the runs as he hit 65 and with Adam Sharrocks making 50 and the in-form Michael Clinning 44, Fleetwood won by five wickets with 204-5.

Blackpool skipper Paul Danson led by example at Stanley Park. Having seen his side restrict Chorley to 145-8 he found himself at the crease with the Blackpool innings in trouble at 92-8.

But he went on to make an undefeated 52 and with James Smith, 10 not out, saw Blackpool home by two wickets at 146-8.

Stephen John, 3-74, and Gaurav Dhar, 5-68, bowled unchanged for Chorley for whom Ian Mawdesley made a top score of 50, Michael Critchley made 40 not out and John made 27 as Justin Kreusch took 3-52 before going on to make 44 with the bat.
