Fleetwood beat Blackpool in a rain affected match at at Stanley Park on Monday as the home side, batting first, made 161-6 in 46 overs.

Justin Kreusch contributed 55 and Tom Reece 37 while Tom Blundell took 3-45 and Kyle Smit 2-56.

In reply Michael Clinning made 48 before Fleetwood lost middle order wickets but skipper Wayne Clarke and Chris Stanhope turned the game with a steady partnership for the seventh wicket. Stanhope made 40 and was out just before victory was achieved while Clarke finished on 31 not out as Fleetwood achieved their target at 162-7. Kreusch had a good all-round game with 4-34.

It completed a miserable weekend for Blackpool who went down to Lancaster at home on Saturday. Blackpool made a decent total of 225-2 with Luis Reece leading the way with 87 not out and Charles Boucher making 65 and Justin Kreusch 51. But Lancaster reached the target with five wickets and 11 balls to spare with Jamie Heywood making 91, and Jannisar Khan 57.

Fleetwood's modest total of 154 was enough to give them victory by 33 runs at home to Leyland on Saturday as they bowled the visitors out for 121.

St Annes secured a winning draw on Saturday against Morecambe who posted 181-7 in reply to the St Annes total of 207-6 to which Gareth Evans contributed 62, and Shane Harwood 49 not out. Coetsee then made a top score of 90 for Morecambe as Peddar made 36 and Tommy Clough 33 as Harwood bowled unchanged to take 4-83.

Rain spoiled their match with Preston on Monday. Preston scored 251 in 46 overs. Sajid Patel, promoted to open the innings, made 86, Lukman Vahaluwala 61 not out and Bilal Asad 39 as St Annes' stand-in professional for the injured Shane Harwood, Mahendra Nagamootoo, took 7-74 with his leg-spin. Stephen Twist was the mainstay of the St Annes innings as he hit an undefeated 77 with only Adrian Darlington, 21, and John Musgrave, 19, giving him much support as Rhys Williams took 4-50. St Annes had reached 136-5 in 35 overs when the match ended.
