Top quality amateur rugby league comes to Fylde's Woodlands ground on Saturday, May 26, when giant killers Halton Simms Cross take on Ince Rose Bridge in the prestigious GMB Union BARLA National Cup Final, ko 2.30pm.

North West Counties side HSC have beaten four National Conference clubs on their way to this blue ribbon event - Leigh Miners, Hull Dockers, Leigh East and Saddleworth Rangers.

They'll hope to add Ince to this distinguished list in only the fourth ever all-Lancashire final. Their coach Rob Shone has recently scooped two awards - NW Counties Coach of the Year and BARLA Open Age Coach of the Year - and will be desperate for his side to round off the season in such a fitting climax.

Ince Rose Bridge coach Neil Jukes is looking forward to celebrating his 31st birthday at the weekend with his club's first National Cup Final win.

Simms Cross are the first Widnes side and the first from outside the National Conference League to reach the final since Ince Rose Bridge themselves did it in 2002 when the Wigan side lost in the final to West Hull.

The National Cup is the only amateur trophy HSC haven't won. So come what may there will will be a new name on the Cup by 14.30pm on Saturday.

Spectators from both clubs, supplemented by neutrals who want to taste the unique Cup Final atmosphere, will flock up the M6 to the Woodlands for what is confidently expected to be the biggest crowd of the season at this famous ground.

There will be a usual match day catering service, served indoors and outdoors.
