Blackpool lost the leadership of the 3D Sports Northern Premier League after a shock 25-run defeat to bottom club Fleetwood on Monday.
Tom Blundell took 6 for 32 as Blackpool lost their last six wickets for just 10 runs chasing Fleetwood's modest total of 117-3 in 40 overs in which the in-form Adam Parker hit an undefeated 68.
As a result Kendal went one point clear of at the top of the table despite taking only four points from an abandoned game against Netherfield.
Netherfield themselves had beaten Blackpool on Saturday with Australian professional Callum Ferguson scoring 46 in an imposing total of 200-7. Despite a fighting 34 from skipper Paul Danson, Ferguson collected 5 for 42 and leg-spinner Marc Hadwin an amazing 4 for 0 as Blackpool subsided to 103 all out.
St Annes' Russ Bradley batted 21 overs for 33 not out to save a draw for his side at Kendal on Saturday, seeing out the last five-and-a-half overs with last man Luke O'Dea. St Annes closed on 125-9, well short of Kendal's 193-8. Kendal pro Ross McMillan took 5 for 30.
St Annes’ match at Leyland on Monday was abandoned due to rain.
Adam Parker had a good day for Fleetwood in their success over Lancaster on Saturday. Parker took 7 for 29 as Lancaster subsided to 94 all out and then hit an undefeated 53 to see his side through to victory.
