Blackpool beat Netherfield in a low-scoring game at Stanley Park to move above Kendal into second place in the 3D Sports Northern Premier League just five points behind Leyland.

Blackpool were dismissed for just 113 with Callum Ferguson taking 4 for 34. But superb seam bowling from Richard Gleeson (3 for 35) and Luis Reece (5 for 40) helped bowl out Netherfield for 101 and give Paul Danson's men a 15-point haul.

St Annes professional Mansoor Ahmed spun his side to victory taking 6 for 50 against Kendal.

Atiq Uz-Zaman hit a superb 106 for St Annes with Stephen Twist (41) providing support, in a total of 236.

Terry Hunte top-scored with a fine 84 for Kendal before falling to Ahmed as Kendal lost their their last six wickets for just 17 runs.

There was joy at last for bottom club Fleetwood who earned their first win of the season with a resounding six-wicket success at Lune Road against Lancaster.

Michael Walling's 67 provided the cornerstone of Lancaster's 179 but Adam Parker's superb innings of 80 not out saw Fleetwood past their target in style.

Blackpool's Sri Lankan pro Sajeewa Weerakoon hit a magnificent 111 not out in his side's total of 264-9 as they enjoyed a 75-run victory over Lancaster in the Thwaites Cup in Sunday but St Annes suffered a two wicket defeat at Leyland. Mansoor Ahmed
