St Annes suffered a nine wicket defeat at Leyland who extended their lead at the top 3D Sports Northern Premier League to 14 points.

Leyland skipper David Makinson took four wickets for 47 to restrict St Annes for 124 with the last nine wickets falling for just 48 runs as former Pakistan wicketkeeper Atiq-Uz-Zaman provided the only real resistance scoring 57.

Karl Cross (50 not out) and Chris Parkinson (55) shared a century opening stand as Leyland cruised to a comfortable win.

St Annes had to be content with a winning draw on Saturday as Morecambe held on with nine wickets down.

Uz-Zaman had earlier made hit 157 and put on 173 for the first wicket with Adam Taylor (44) while the in-form Stephen Twist weighed in with 51 not out as St Annes reached 291-2.

Despite professional Mansoor Ahmed taking three wickets, Morecambe's last pair of Graham Lee and Jono Gates held out.

Lancashire batsman Steven Croft helped Blackpool to crushing victory over Fleetwood on Monday hitting 113 in his side's total of 229-4 and sharing a second wicket partnership of 192 with Luis Reece, who was run out for 99.

Blackpool's Sri Lankan professional Sajeewa Weerakon took 6 for 47 and young wicketkeeper James Smith snaffled five catches as Fleetwood were dismissed for 116, despite a fighting 43 from opener James Ellis.

The defeat leaves Fleetwood rooted to the foot of the table.

Luis Reece and Sri Lankan professional Sajeewa Weekakon helped Blackpool hold out for a draw at Lancaster on Saturday.

Both hit half-centuries as Blackpool reached safety at 186 for 5, well short of Lancaster's 224- 5. Teenage batsman Jamie Heywood hit an unbeaten 105 for Lancaster, with Pakistan batsman Taufeeq Umar, the home professional, adding 64.

Fleetwood were beaten by six wickets at home to Chorley on Saturday after scoring 141.

Josh Tolley made 84 not out for Chorley after their South African pro Friedel de Wet had wrecked the home side's hopes with a fiery spell of six for 48.

Adam Parker led the Fleetwood resistance with 47.
