Nia Rutter was once again the star performer for Blackpool Wyre and Fylde Athletic Club who were runners-up in the latest fixture of the Mid Lancs track and field league with sixteen winning performances at the Litherland Stadium, Merseyside.

Nia's outstanding versatility saw her take the senior women's 100m sprint title in a time of 13.8 seconds followed by wins in the long jump with 4.61m and the shot putt event with a throw of 9.32m.

Her husband, Jon, completed a successful afternoon for the Rutter family with a winning clearance of 1.55m. in the senior mens high jump.

Chloe Needham triumphed in the under 15 girls' discus and javelin events before taking third place in the shot putt.

In the same age group, Lewis Arbon responded for the boys with victories in the 100m sprint and the high jump.

In the under 13 age group, Tash Gardner took the girls' sprint double for the 100m and 200m while Luis Blyth took both the boys high jump and long jump events.

The club's two outstanding young distance runners, Joe Gigli and Ben Everson, ran out easy winners in their 1500m endurance age group events.

Jodie Ferguson continued her winning sequence by taking the under 13 girls' 800m and Chloe Owens won the under 17 womens 100m sprint.

The first round of the Northern track and field Cup will take place at Stanley Park, today.
