Winsley will play in the Glos/Wilts Dvision next season after clinching promotion on Saturday.

Having led the league for virtually the entire season, they will play at Glos/Wilts level for the first time as knocks of 73 from captain Charlie Holton, 50 from James Horrox and a superb 106 from Josh Rurawhe helped them to a winning 284-6 over bottom-placed Calne.

The visitors were bowled out for just 100, with Rob Murphy taking 4-29, Simon Orchard 3-26 and Josh Rurawhe capping off a fine day with 2-24, including the final match-winning wicket.

“We lost a few wickets cheaply at the start of the innings, but then Josh came in and played fantastically,’’ said Winsley skipper Charlie Holton.

“We’ve got great strength in depth and everybody does a great job when called upon.

“The structure is all in place for us to keep progressing, we’re making progress off the pitch with the new clubhouse, and we’re improving all the time on it.’’

Biddestone finished runners-up behind champions Goatacre, after a dramatic one-wicket success at relegated Dumbleton.

The home side made 241-8, Rupert Salmon with 59 and John Fish 57 not out as Naeem Khan took 4-52.

Biddestone’s Andy Flynn scored 53 and Shaun Leibisch and Andrew Lawton 38 and 37 respectively.

Trowbridge suffered a 58-run loss at Stroud, who secured their survival.
