TWO goals in a minute at the start of the second half effectively ended brave Fleetwood Town’s FA Cup adventure.
The Blue Square North side entertained League One Hartlepool United and a shock looked on the cards when Andy Bell scored from Jamie Milligan's free-kick in the opening quarter hour.
But Pool’s Michael Mackay scored twice as Hartlepool hit back in the fog and went on to sneak a pulsating cup tie.
Mackay met a Jamie McCunnie cross to equalise in the first half and then lobbed his side in front in the first 11 seconds of the second half.
And a minute later Joel Porter made it 3-1 when he met Anthony Sweeney's volley.
Adam Warlow ran clear to reply late on for Town but Pools held on for victory.
Fleetwood: Hurst, Walmsley, Robinson, Mercer, Hills, Maylett (Hunt 85), Beattie, Kay, Milligan, Warlow, Bell.
