The latest fantastic contribution to The Citizen's Tins and Toys appeal has come from Napthens Solicitors, who chose those unfortunate enough to be affected by domestic abuse for their Christmas charity this year.

Napthens, a general legal practice, of Springfield Road, Blackpool, led by their residential property department, decided families in crisis on the Fylde were to benefit from an office collection of tins and toys.

Already the generosity of the Fylde public has become evident with dozens of donations being left with us.

Simon Ainsworth, partner and head of residential property at Napthens, said: "As soon as we heard about the Tins and Toys appeal we were keen to help.

"These gifts will help make Christmas, normally such a hard time to those who need the support of the refuge, special for many people and I would like to thank all the staff who got involved." The Citizen has collected new toys and essential goods for Fylde Coast Women's Aid, which operates two refuges covering the boroughs of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

The appeal will be winding down this week with staff from the organisation collecting the huge amount of donations from the Citizen offices today.
