Computer game giants Gamestation is the latest business to support the Citizen's Tins and Toys appeal for women and families suffering from domestic abuse.

The seasonal appeal will make life a little easier at Christmas for families staying in the two women's refuges run by Fylde Coast Women's Aid.

We are asking for donations of non-perishable food and toiletries along with new toys which can be handed in at the Citizen offices on Clifton Street.

All we ask is that gifts are new and unwrapped, and tins and unperishable foods are within their sell-by date.

Toiletries would also be appreciated, as would nappies and items for babies.

Gamestation, on Corporation Street in Blackpool, rallied to the cause, donating copies of Playstation 2 games Spyro The Eternal Night and The Simpsons Game.

Paul Wilson, area manager for Gamestation, said: "We are only too glad to make a contribution to this worthwhile cause which will have a real impact on families going through a hard time in the Fylde area."
