An 88-year-old Thornton man who was hit by a taxi over a week ago has died.
Francis Graham was crossing Victoria Road, near to the roundabout with Amounderness Way, at around 1pm on Sunday when the incident happened.
At the time traffic was fairly heavy and had formed two lanes on the approach to the roundabout.
Mr Graham was pushing his pedal cycle across the carriageway between two stationary queuing cars and walked into the path of a Hackney taxi travelling in the other lane.
As a result of the collision Mr Graham was taken to hospital with what were initially believed to be relatively minor injuries.
However, it was later discovered that he had suffered a fractured skull.
His condition was initially stable, but this was later complicated by the onset of pneumonia.
Mr Graham died at around 6pm last night and his family have been informed.
