A construction firm from Thornton is celebrating a double win in the prestigious Master Builder of the Year awards.

Simmons Construction of Thornton, run by Tony Simmons and Neil Saxon, have had two of their completed projects from 2008 win the North West awards The renovation project was a complete re-build of the front and first floor of a sea-front bungalow at Cleveleys, where erection of a massive steel frame with a crane was needed just yards from the Irish sea. The commercial project, was a 750sqm office block in Poulton town centre for CFM Consultants.

National winners in each category are to be selected at a dinner event at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London later this month.
