A Fylde steel company is seeing sales soar, due to its involvement with the prospering green technology sector.

Lancashire company, Stainless Solutions Limited (SSL), based in Thornton Cleveleys, is enjoying a boost to its business as a result of collaboration with green tech firm, Maxsys Ltd. SSL is a specialist fabricator of stainless steel.

It manufactures the bespoke magnetic fuel treatment systems that are developed and sold by Maxsys.

Margaret Clarkson, Managing Director of SSL, said: “This is an exciting time to be involved with green technology.

"It’s a huge growth area in the UK and SSL is thrilled to be able to work with companies like Maxsys.”

Green technology is a sector that is currently flourishing, bosses claim.

With fuel prices skyrocketing, a majority of businesses are looking to improve their energy efficiency in order to save money.

These include products produced by Maxsys Fuel Systems such as standalone devices that improve combustion in boilers and other heating systems.

They produce typical fuel savings of at least 5 per cent, while also yielding a reduction in CO2 emissions, bosses said.

Paul Finnegan, Commercial Director of Maxsys, said: “We are in the midst of our busiest time to date, with companies across Europe showing interest in the Maxsys Fuel Systems.

"Persuading companies to invest in green technology today is like pushing at an open door.”

However, Mr Finnegan warns that the green tech boom is not immune to the current economic strife.

He says: “Investing in green tech for most companies is contingent on two things.

"They need to know that the technology is proven – that other companies in their sector have found success.

"With budgets being tightly restricted, they also need to know that the technology will pay for itself quickly.

"The Maxsys Fuel Systems have been successfully adopted across a wide range of sectors and the device typically provides payback in less than two years.”

Since companies have caught on to the fact that improving energy efficiency is a smart way of saving money, investment in green tech is only likely to grow, SSL bosses claim.

SSL’s successful involvement with Maxsys highlights the potential in Lancashire for working within the green tech sector.
