Dog owners can take their four-legged friends for a free health check when a PDSA wagon rolls into Wyre later this month.

Veterinary nurses will spend two days in Thornton checking the health of any dogs that are brought to the Wyreside Ecology Centre on River Road, Stanah.

Experts will also be happy to address concerns about pet obesity, dental disease and other problems.

They will also be able to answer questions on other pet problems.

The PetCheck wagon then moves on to Marine Hall Gardens in Fleetwood, again for a two-day stay.

The visit is being supported by Wyre Borough Council dog warden Janet Gibson who will be available at the Thornton venue to discuss concerns about animal welfare and dog control.

PDSA PetCheck will be in Thornton on September 25 and 26 and in Fleetwood on September 27 and 28.

Opening hours are 10am to 5pm (4pm on Sunday).
