On Monday children at Out Rawcliffe CE Primary School voted for their school council with representatives from each year group democratically elected.
Among the speeches were requests for bike racks and a whole school writing day.
It comes after the school children presented harvest gifts and gave a harvest performance on Sunday at St John's Church in Out Rawcliffe.
Pupils from class one gave a performance of The Little Red Hen while the older children explained the meaning of harvest to parishioners.
Acting headteacher, Patricia Watson, who attended the service, said: "I am very proud of the children and the staff. They have all worked extremely hard and I know Mrs Cookson is proud of them. It's lovely to see the church full."
