POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a report of a sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl in St Annes.
The girl was walking along St David's Road South between 11.45am and 12.30pm on Thursday when she was approached by a man who subjected her to a sexual assault.
The man is described as white, in his early 20s and had fair, spiky hair.
He was wearing blue shorts with a bright yellow t-shirt and white socks and trainers.
He is said to have distinctive tattoo on his inner, right forearm.
Detective Inspector Andy Unsworth said: "This would have been a very busy time of day and I am confident somebody must have seen something.
"If you were in the area around lunchtime on Thursday and you saw a man matching the description or saw any other suspicious activity then I would ask you to contact police."
Anybody with any information is asked to contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
