He is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates today.

At around 7.10pm on Friday, a property on St Pauls Avenue, Lytham St Annes was broken into and a key for the vehicle was taken along with a laptop.

The arrest was made after a resident contacted the police regarding suspicious activity.

Police, along with the force helicopter, followed the Porsche and a man was arrested in Warton.

Sgt Niamh O’Donoghue, Fylde Geographic Coordinator, said: “There is intelligence that criminals from the Liverpool area are targeting the Fylde in the build up to Christmas.

“There are police operations in place to target these offenders but it is essential that all residents are extra vigilant.

"I would urge anyone who thinks they have seen anything suspicious to contact the police as the information they hold may be critical in apprehending a criminal committing a crime.”
