Thick fog and freezing weather failed to dampen spirits as hundreds turned out to see the festive lights switched on in St Annes.
Shoppers and families joined in the fun and were entertained by choirs from Mayfield and Clifton primary schools, who sang songs in The Square.
Fylde Mayor Susan Fazackerley was joined by St Annes carnival queen Jenny Moore and her retinue to press the switch.
