A Tory councillor has revealed plans for the Fylde's first Conservative Green Day.
Coun Simon Renwick, Wesham's Conservative representative, said the event, on Sunday, May 4, will concentrate on litter picking the area around Derby Road.
Members of the public and council have already pledged support, and Fylde council will lend the team all the necessary equipment.
Coun Renwick said: "I am delighted to be able to announce this.
"I've been involved in Operation Clean Sweeps in the past, but this is the first time this type of event has been arranged by a political party in Fylde.
"Many members of the public have already pledged support but I am hoping many more will come out on the day to lend a hand.
"I've also got commitments from Conservative councillors.
"This is the first of many such events around the Fylde and as political party we are keen to show that we are the party that cares about the environment, and to such a degree that we'll roll our sleeves up and get stuck in."
