THE leader of the Conservative Party at Lancashire County Council has been ousted by a fellow Preston-based councillor.
Michael Welsh, the councillor for Preston North East, has been voted out of the position of party leader at the annual general meeting of the Tories at County Hall this morning.
Mr Welsh, who has been leader since 2003 will be replaced by Geoffrey Driver, council representative for the Greyfriars area.
Last year, Coun Driver narrowly missed clinching leadership at the group's annual meeting, failing by 15 votes to 14.
Its Labour we should be ousting and don't start with all that masonic tripe, Labour are a bunch of snotty masonic self-servers as well. Labour has done nothing for Lancashire. I hope they get kicked out at the next election

Goodness, even the ex-pats are having their say. It's a tad ironic that they jump ship and then still feel they should have an opinion about politics in the UK. Personally, I wouldn't dream of telling some sun-seeker in Spain how to vote. Still, takes all sorts. I have to admit that my local lodge isn't known for its left-leaning credentials but then again, that's Yates's for you.

And why shouldn't I have a say in whats going on over there TOUCHED? I worked and paid into the system without a day out of work for 50 years. And
what happenned when I was about to retire? A fkn thief called Gordon Brown stole most of my occupational pension and left me with just about enough to enjoy my retirement in Spain. You probably wouldn't have a clue about paying into a pension for your old age. By the sound of you, you lack the intelligence. Enjoy your Yate's Ausie White wine.

I'm old enough to remember what Lancashire was like the last time the Tories ran it - empty nurseries because they could build them and not staff them, and about the worst level of spending on schools in the country!! You really want them back?

Oh dear. I fear that too much sun has got to 'Escaped'. Not that it is any business of yours, I do have a pension, pay my tax on time; am a partner in a business and have an MA in politics and ethics. However, unlike you, I don't do a runner - even when I had to live under Thatcher and her cohorts - and I continue to pay in to the pot. No doubt when cuddly 'call me Dave' Cameron gets in to power you will be back in the UK to watch all the wealthy Tories pull up the ladder from beneath them. Enjoy the sun.

My God touched how can you extrapolate from my postings that I support Cudly Dave? You really do come over as a bit thick.
Doing a runner! Why do you think that? I have mearly moved house, and used the equity to buy a better house and replace the money that your boss Gordon stole from me, thus enabling me to have a reasonable retirement.

The Labour Party are a bunch of public school/Oxbridge toffs as well. Look at most of the frontbench, maybe 2 or 3 of them come from working class backgrounds. Hardly any Labour MPs are what I would call working class. Lancashire and England have suffered under Labour so GET THEM OUT! Labour has done nothing for the working classes. My son has to pay ridiculous tuition fees brought in by Labour hypocrites who enjoyed free education.
