A TEENAGER is being hunted by police after he was reported missing from his home in Bacup.

Police say they are becoming concerned for the welfare of James Jones, 16, who disappeared from his Deerplay Court home on Saturday.

He left Bacup to go shopping on Burnley and was expected to return home at 6pm - but he failed to show up.

James was last seen Fleetwood the following day but has not been back in touch with his family since.

Police have interviewed his family and they say he has never been away from home this long before.

James has a Welsh accent, is around six feet tall, medium build, and has blue eyes with short. ginger hair.

He has a one-inch birthmark to the right side of his neck and has an obvious twitch.

He is believed to have been wearing a blue hooded top with Umbro in white letters across the front, blue jeans and white Umbro trainers.

Sergeant Martin Storey, of Rossendale Police, said: "It is now four days since James went missing and so far his family have heard nothing from him.

"They are clearly very worried and keen to know he is safe."

Officers say that James has connections with the North Wales area and that enquiries are ongoing into his disappearance.

Anyone with any information which could help the investigation is urged to contact the police on 01282 425001.
