A man is due to appear before magistrates in Fleetwood today charged with manslaughter after the body of a 43-year-old was discovered on Tuesday night.

The grim discovery was made at 7.55pm at a ground floor flat on North Albert Street.

James Howard, 24, also of North Albert Street, was arrested and questioned yesterday.

He was later charged with manslaughter.

A post mortem revealed the 43-year-old died from external haemorrhaging from a severe fracture to the nose.

The dead man has still not been named, as police have been unable to inform his family.
