Man, 33, charged over Fleetwood murder

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found in Fleetwood.

Officers were called to a house on Hatfield Avenue in the town at about 2am on Tuesday, where they discovered a man, in his 50s, with severe head injuries.

A post mortem has since revealed that the victim died of stab wounds.

Steven Nurney, 33, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Fleetwood Magistrates this afternoon.

Two other men who were arrested have been released without charge.
