Wyre Borough Council is formally asking residents and interested parties if they support the establishment of a Fleetwood Parish Council.
Having received a petition from the Fleetwood Action Group containing the required 2,000 signatures, the council has now begun a community governance review to determine whether the move is viable and best meets the needs of local people.
Step one is to engage with those who would be directly affected by such a change, hence the request for feedback.
Comments can be made in writing to Joanne Porter, Corporate Support Officer, Wyre Borough Council, Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7PU.
They can also be made online via the council's website at www.wyrebc.gov.uk/Find/FleetwoodParishCouncil.
All views should be submitted by 28 November, 2008.
