Five youngsters had to be rescued by lifeboat crews after becoming stranded by the incoming tide near Bispham in Blackpool yesterday.
The group of teenagers called the emergency services when they realised had become cut off from the beach at 5.30pm.
A lifeboat crew was scrambled after reports the youths were almost up to their waist in water.
The crew were able to successfully guide the group to the shore, near to Red Bank Road.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
