A NEW campaign sending a warning out to the “Mr Bigs” of the criminal world has been launched – claiming “what’s yours is ours”.
Posters will be splashed across Liverpool and Blackpool Airports to target criminals based abroad.
Last year Lancashire’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit seized £1.8million worth of counterfeit goods, £1.2million worth of stolen vehicles, £1.7million worth of property, £210,000 worth of drugs, £47,000 in cash, eight firearms, and more than a thousand rounds of ammunition.
During the same period, the Proceeds of Crime Unit confis-cated more than £2.3million worth of criminal assets, and more than £360,000 was forfeited by criminals.
Detective Superintendent Dave Brian, head of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: “We know that people who are involved in serious and organised crime across Lancashire frequently use Blackpool and Liverpool Airports for both business and pleasure and the purpose of this campaign is to warn them that we know who they are.
“We are hot on their heels and they will be caught and punished.”
Six different adverts will be displayed at each airport throughout the year.
One shows a luxury villa with a sold sign next to it with the slogan – “what’s yours is ours… sooner or later”.
