LANCASHIRE Police must make improvements in the way it records anti-social behaviour incidents, a report has said.
A review into police crime and incident reports by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) says the majority of forces are making correct crime recording decisions.
Lancashire was praised for its high quality data, ‘consistent and accurate’ recording by staff with ‘high standards’ and a victim-focused approach.
The report said: “The constabulary could improve the way it records crime from incidents of ASB, and should work to ensure it places the same focus on correct recording of incidents as it does of crimes.”
Lancashire police said: “We recognise there are areas highlighted in the report where we could make improvements and we will ensure that the appropriate action is taken where necessary.”
