Fast food's out and football's in for Blackpool teenager Shea Ferber after a revolutionary 'fat camp' transformed him from slobby to slim.
Shea, 15, of Moorland Road first began visiting the Carnegie International Summer Camp four years ago after mum, Sheila, read about the work of camp creator and weight loss expert - Professor Paul Gately.
He has since lost more than two-and-a-half stone - bringing his new weight to just over 13 stone - and is now set to be featured in a new Living TV show charting the progress of youngsters at the Leeds-based camp.
Shea said: "I enjoyed everything about camp! Returning home was the hard part. I found it difficult and didn't really fully apply what I learned on camp back at home.
"Then I got my head around it all and took advantage of the support from the camp staff and realised that I wanted to be fit for the football team and the girls! My lifestyle has changed by becoming more active and eating more healthy.
"I play football three times a week and go to the gym one day and try not to eat too many takeaways."
Shea's mum, Sheila added: "I can't thank Paul Gately and his staff enough for all they have done for my family.
"His continued guidance throughout the years have really provided the support we needed to help us keep on track."
Professor Gately is now looking for families who are worried about their children's weight to take part in the new Living TV show charting how they are re-educated about diet and nutrition as well as undergoing an intensive dietary and fitness programme.
Professor Gately, 35, from Leeds Metropolitan University said: "I don't subscribe to the view that parents are wholly to blame for obese children, but no child can diet without support.
"I am very excited to be part of this series that will help families change their lives for a healthier future."
